Overheard a guy at the coffee shop say he uses his dog's name plus '123' for all his passwords. That's a huge risk, right?

How many people do you know with pets named Bella or Max? That's exactly why those passwords are so bad. My friend had her email hacked because she used her kid's name and the year he was born. It's crazy how we all think we're being clever with these personal details, but they're the easiest things to guess. I bet half the people in that coffee shop are doing the same thing.

My old roommate used his cat's name and his birthday for everything. The scary part is how many people use the same basic formula without even thinking about it. I see it all the time with family names and simple number patterns. It creates this weird false sense of security because it feels personal, but it's the first thing a script will try.

My cousin's password was his dog's name plus 123, and his bank account got drained last year.

Did you see that study where they cracked like a quarter of passwords just by trying pet names and years? It was in some tech blog last month. They said adding numbers at the end barely helps at all if the word is that obvious. Makes you wonder what we should even use instead.
