Rant: Matched with a girl who showed up 45 minutes late and ordered a $90 steak
She spent the first 15 minutes on the phone with her mom, then ordered the most expensive thing on the menu without asking. I was stuck with the bill because I felt awkward calling her out. Has anyone else dealt with a date who clearly just wanted a free meal?

That $90 probably went towards the "experience" more than the actual steak. I looked into it and a lot of those high end places serve a 12 ounce prime cut that costs them maybe $25 wholesale. The rest is paying for the tablecloth and the waiter's patter about how the cow was massaged. I'd rather spend that $25 on a good butcher and cook it myself at home where I can burn it without feeling guilty.

Actually prime cuts are closer to $35-40 wholesale these days.
