Chose a downtown Detroit co-working space over working from home
I picked WeWork over my kitchen table. Rent was $300 a month. Got three client calls done in one afternoon without my neighbor's dog barking through the wall. Anyone else make the switch and see actual ROI?

Wait, is it really just about escaping the noise though? I used to think paying for a desk was kind of a scam, but your buddy Marcus made a solid point about treating work hours like real work hours. That mental shift alone seems worth the monthly cost if it means faster turnaround and more clients.

Did your productivity actually go up or are you just paying $300 to get away from your neighbor's dog? My buddy Marcus got a spot in a shared office near his apartment in Ferndale and it worked out weirdly well for him. He does freelance graphic design, and he was going crazy just staring at his bedroom wall all day. After a month, he landed two repeat clients because he could actually take calls without background noise and had a professional address to put on his invoices. He told me the biggest shock was how much faster his turnaround time got once he could fully focus for a few hours straight. The way he explained it, paying for the space forced him to treat his work hours like real work hours, which paid for itself pretty quick.
