My tablet pen died mid-commission and I lost 3 hours of work

Working on a big piece for a client. Got into the flow around 9pm. Suddenly my Wacom pen just stopped responding. No warning, no low battery indicator. Took me 20 minutes to realize the nib was completely worn down to the sensor. Had to restart the whole shading process on that layer. Anyone else have a tool fail at the worst possible moment?

Ngl that's brutal, I feel your pain on losing hours like that.

you should've saved like an hour ago" lol that's brutally accurate but also kind of funny in a painful way. So like, I'm curious - when you lose that much work, does it ever make you just shut down for the rest of the day or do you push through and redo it? I've had nights where I just stare at the blank canvas for 20 minutes before giving up lmao. Is there a point where you're like "nope, that's it for today"?

Wear out a nib mid stroke and it's basically your tablet telling you "you should've saved like an hour ago.
