Spent 6 hours trying to fix a color profile issue on my monitor

Last week I finished a piece in Procreate and when I exported it to my laptop the colors looked way off. Reds were almost orange and skin tones looked grey. I spent a whole Sunday tweaking settings, calibrating with a SpyderX, and searching forums. Turns out my monitor was set to sRGB instead of Display P3 which Procreate uses by default. Has anyone else had this kind of color mismatch between devices?

Reds were almost orange and skin tones looked grey" - yeah I feel you on that frustration but honestly I kinda disagree that calibrating is always the answer. I messed with a SpyderX for months before realizing my iPad and laptop just have different screens with different gamuts and you can't really fix that with settings. SRGB vs P3 is a real thing but most people viewing your work online are on sRGB screens anyway, so maybe the "off" colors are actually what they'll see. Ever think about just working in sRGB from the start and accepting some dullness for consistency?

Nah, calibrating just gives you a consistent lie instead of a random one, at least you know what you're fighting.

P3? Just work in sRGB. Problem solved.
