Debate: Did that influencer's 'go viral with Reels' advice actually work or backfire?

I followed a big marketing guru's advice to post short Reels every single day for a month. They said it was the only way to get seen by the algorithm (you know, the 'play the game' crowd). After 30 days, my follower count barely budged, but my watch time dropped 20% because the content felt rushed. On the other hand, a friend of mine tried the same thing and gained 500 followers in two weeks. Did this daily posting tip work for you, or did it just burn you out like it did for me?

Playing the Reels game only works if you actually have something worth watching daily. Forced daily content often hurts quality more than it helps reach. Your friend probably just got lucky with the algorithm lottery, not the strategy itself.

Ugh, yes, this exactly! The "algorithm lottery" is such a perfect way to put it. I feel like people see one success story and think it's a guaranteed path, but it's really just a mix of timing and randomness. Forcing daily content is way more likely to burn you out than it is to actually grow your account. It's like the algorithm can smell the desperation, you know? Quality always wins over quantity in the long run, even if it takes longer to get noticed.

Algorithm lottery" is exactly right. I used to think it was all about grinding it out daily. Changed my mind after seeing the same thing happen. Forced content is just noise.
