Talked to a friend who runs a small bakery about her Instagram ads, and she said something that made me pause.

What did she say that got you thinking? My cousin had the same issue with her cafe ads. She was just posting pictures of her pastries, but nobody was buying. I told her to try a short video of her making the most popular croissant, with text on screen saying "Fresh every morning at 7." Her next post got way more people asking for the address.

Got me thinking about how bad I am at taking my own advice. I'll tell a friend to make a video showing the process, but my own ads are still just a blurry picture of a product on my desk. It's like knowing the exact recipe for success but being too lazy to turn on the oven. Your cousin's story is the perfect example of why showing the work matters more than just showing the thing. I need to actually do the thing I tell everyone else to do.

You're right that showing the process works, but the real trick is making it easy on yourself. Set your phone on a stand and hit record while you do your normal work. You don't need a fancy edit, just trim the start and end. The hardest part is getting over the idea that it has to be perfect. Your blurry desk photo is proof you have the product, now just show how it gets made.
