Had to pick between a beachfront coworking spot and a library with free coffee

Chose the library for the coffee and ended up getting shushed three times for taking a work call in a corner. The barista felt so bad she slid me a free muffin, so I guess the coffee was still worth it.

OH MY GOD they SHUSHED you THREE times?! That is WILD to me. I would have literally melted into the floor after the second one, especially on a work call where you're trying to be professional. That barista giving you a free muffin was a total lifesaver though, smart move on her part. Next time I'd just bring a thermos and camp out on a bench outside, at least you can yell into your phone without getting dirty looks from a librarian.

Heh, the librarian comment made me snort. Those death glares really do sting worse than any verbal shushing. You'd think we were trying to defuse a bomb in a reading room, not take a business call. I vote for the thermos and a park bench, but if it's cold out, maybe just accept your fate and live in that coffee shop forever. The free muffin is their rent for having to listen to your side of the conversation.
