Serious question, has anyone else spent a full day trying to get a SIM card in Bangkok?

I thought it would be a 30-minute errand, but between the language barrier, the required passport registration at three different counters, and the shop's system going down, it took me over 6 hours to get mobile data.

The AIS shop at MBK Center did the same thing to me last year. They needed a copy of my passport and then their printer broke. I completely understand your pain.

Wow, I used to think needing a passport copy was just normal procedure. But hearing how often this printer thing happens, it feels like a bad excuse now. Makes you wonder what's really going on.

Maybe their printers are just really old.
