TIL that chatting with a retired consultant in a co-working space in Medellin got me to stop overthinking my travel plans
She told me she spent 15 years waiting for the "perfect" time to go nomadic and then just booked a one-way ticket to Colombia after her husband passed, which made me realize I should just pick a date and go instead of researching for 6 months straight, anyone else meet someone who just snapped them out of analysis paralysis?
That 15 year waiting period sounds like the world's longest loading screen. I half expected her to say she finally hit "buy ticket" because the Excel spreadsheet crashed one too many times. Respect for the lady though, she figured out that life doesn't have a perfect save point.
emeryj66 you nailed it with the loading screen analogy. For me, I just got sick of waiting for the "right time" and realized the spreadsheet would never be perfect. So I booked a cheap flight to somewhere random and figured out the rest as I went. What finally pushed you to hit go?
