Hit the 18 month mark on my SSDI appeal today and I just cant believe it
I swear I filed this thing back in early 2023 thinking maybe 6 months tops. Now here I am 18 months later and I just got another letter saying they need more medical records from some doctor I saw once two years ago for a sinus infection. The wait is unreal. I had to close my auto shop because my back is shot and this was supposed to be my safety net. The worst part is I called the DDS office last month and they told me my case was on step 4 of 5. Then this new letter basically reset everything back to step 3. Has anyone else had the 18 month mark hit and actually got approved without having to go in front of a judge?

Step 3 is actually the evidence gathering step, not a reset.

Sounds like you're skipping the real work then.

I used to think that too, @kai_webb91. But after trying this method a few times, I realized step 3 is where you actually catch hidden problems. I was skeptical at first because it felt like extra work, not less. But now I see it saves time in the long run by stopping bigger mistakes early.
