Question about a bad paint mix at my place in Tacoma

I was painting my kitchen cabinets with a custom color from Sherwin-Williams, Emerald Urethane, and the second gallon I opened was way off. It was a totally different shade of green. I had to stop everything, drive back to the store on 6th Ave, and they had to remix it from the formula. Has anyone else had a paint color not match between cans from the same batch?

Ugh, that's the worst! I mean, it's a custom mix, you pay for it to be right. It totally kills your whole work flow when you have to stop and fix their mistake. Makes you check every single can from now on, which you shouldn't have to do. Just feels like nobody cares about doing the job right the first time anymore.

It's not just paint, it's everything now. I bought two packs of the same floor tiles last month and the shades were slightly off. You can't trust consistency between batches anymore. Companies rush production and quality control is gone. It makes simple home projects a real headache because you have to check every single item.

Heard about my buddy redoing his kitchen. Ordered the same cabinet handles twice from a big store. Second batch was a totally different finish. Not even close. He had to return the whole lot and start over. Lost a week on his project. It's like they don't even look at what they're boxing up anymore.
