My sign fell apart at the subway station in Boston

I was standing at Park Street station holding my climate rally sign and the cardboard started drooping bad because it was drizzling. The tape I used gave up and the whole thing folded in half right when a news camera swung my way. I scrambled to grab some leftover packing tape from my bag but it was too late, the moment was gone. Now I only use corrugated plastic sheets from a hardware store near me for $3 each. Anyone else have a sign disaster in bad weather?

Honestly, the packing tape thing has happened to me too. I switched to the corrugated plastic sheets like you mentioned and it's a total game changer, plus a good thick zip tie to attach it to a stick.

Came across a blog post somewhere that said you can use those cheap plastic cutting boards from the dollar store too, just drill a hole in one end for the zip tie. Haven't tried it myself but it makes sense, they're basically the same material as the corrugated sheets just stiffer. @the_max, you're spot on about the zip ties being the star of the show, I always keep a handful in my glove box now just in case I see a spot that needs a quick fix. The trick is getting the thick ones that don't snap when it's windy, I learned that the hard way after chasing a sign down the street last spring.

You tried the corrugated plastic sheets too? I was skeptical at first but yeah those things hold up way better than cardboard in the rain. Zip ties are the real MVP for sure.
