Am I the only one who misses when security cams had a real hardwire feel?

I found an old DVR system from 2012 in my garage last week. Plugged it in and the picture quality made me laugh, but that thing ran for 8 years without a single glitch. All these new wifi cams drop signal every time a neighbor sneezes. Anyone else think reliability took a dive when they went all wireless?

Wait, DVR systems from 2012 still had analog cable connections, that's not really hardwired networking.

Huh, you know what that reminds me of? My buddy had one of those old TiVo boxes from around then and he swore the guide data came through the phone line. Talk about a different era for sure.

Wait, hold on. Your buddy's TiVo used the phone line for guide data? I mean I knew the old ones did that, but I thought that was like a late 90s early 2000s thing. That's wild, I had no idea they still did that as recently as like 2010 or wherever his was from.
