Can we talk about using a thermal camera on a service call yesterday?
I found a hot spot on a neutral splice in a 100-amp panel that was only finger-warm to the touch, but the camera showed a 15-degree difference. Anyone else had a thermal find something you totally missed by hand?

Had a call last year for a flickering light in a finished basement. Checked all the usual spots, nothing felt warm. Broke out the thermal and found a 20-degree hot spot on a backstabbed outlet behind a bookcase. Wire was just starting to melt the insulation. Would have never found it without the camera.

Wait, backstabbed outlets can get that hot? I thought they just caused loose connections and flickering.
