Spent $150 on a 'universal' wire stripper that mangled every 12-gauge solid I fed it.

The local supply house guy just shook his head and said 'told you to get the Klein Kurve' after I brought the wrecked tool back for the third time.

Jessica707 has a point about cheap ones working with practice, but I just bit the bullet and got the tool the supply house guy said. The Klein Kurve actually works like it should on 12-gauge solid. Never had to bring it back once.

Spent $150 on a universal stripper? That's wild, I wouldn't trust anything that costs that much and calls itself universal. My cheap $20 one from the hardware store does fine on 12-gauge solid, it just takes a little practice. Sounds like that thing was designed to fail. The supply house guy probably sees this every week.

Remember when we all thought those self-adjusting wrenches were a good idea?
