My zipper blew out mid-presentation at a fashion show in Brooklyn
I was showing off my new jacket design to a group of buyers when the zipper just gave up and slid right off the track, leaving me holding the fabric together like a dork. Had to pull out my emergency sewing kit and stitch it back on with dental floss while the crowd watched - anyone else have a sewing fail at the worst possible moment?

32 stitches of dental floss across the fly on my jeans right before a train show in Chicago. Held together through the whole thing, but I kept checking my crotch like a weirdo...

I read somewhere that dental floss is actually stronger than a lot of regular thread, especially the waxed kind. Makes sense why it held up through a whole train show. But man, @the_rowan, you must have been paranoid the whole time. I heard some people even use it for field repairs on backpacks and tents because it doesn't rot like cotton. Still, checking your crotch like that probably made you look way more suspicious than a blown out fly ever would. At least you got the job done though, that's what matters.

Proves we spend our whole lives trusting random cheap thread to hold our pants together.
