Overheard a barista complain about my drink order and it made me rethink everything
I always order a quad shot latte with oat milk and a pump of vanilla, figured I was a regular with a solid order. But this barista muttered something about 'another tik tok order' and I realized I never actually checked if I liked the coffee or just the routine. Has anyone else had an order that turned out to be complete overkill for their actual taste?

You're way overthinking this one. If you like the taste of a quad shot with oat milk and a pump of vanilla, that's your business and not some trend. I've been drinking black coffee for years and people act like I'm trying to prove something, but it's just what tastes good to me. Maybe that barista was just having a rough shift and took it out on your order, doesn't mean you have to reinvent your whole coffee routine.

Honestly @claire872 is right, I've had the same thing happen. One time I ordered my usual and got a side eye from the barista, so I just started ordering with a smile and being super clear. If you like the quad shot with oat milk and vanilla, just own it. People have strong opinions about coffee but it's your drink, not theirs.

Just own it" is right. I switched to a simple order and stopped caring what anyone thinks.
