TIL a flat earther at a meetup actually changed how I look at sunsets

Went to a local meetup in Tulsa last month, and this guy named Dave pointed out that my whole argument about horizon curvature was based on a photo I took from a beach. He said the water distortion and lens flare were making it look curved when it's actually flat. I went back and took the same shot from a pier 50 feet up, and sure enough, the line straightened out. Anyone else had their own evidence turn against them after someone called out the setup?

Man I feel for you, that is a genuinely unsettling experience. It sucks when you think you have solid proof and then someone just casually points out a flaw you missed. It shakes your confidence in everything you thought you knew. Good on you for going back and actually testing it again, most people would just double down instead.

I had a buddy who spent like three days trying to debunk this ghost video. Turns out his "spooky shadow" was just dust on the lens the whole time. He doesn't talk about it anymore.

Used to be one of those people who would swear up and down my ghost footage was real. Then I caught a moth flying past my porch light and realized how easy it is to fool yourself. Nothing kills a good paranormal story faster than a real-world explanation.
