I finally fixed a subfloor squeak without tearing anything up
I had this one spot in a kitchen in Cleveland that was driving everyone nuts. Sounded like a mouse every time you walked near the island. I drilled a tiny hole, injected some construction adhesive with a straw, and weighed it down with a bucket of water for 24 hours. Squeak is totally gone now and the homeowner texted me a thank you photo of her cat sleeping there. Anyone else got a weird fix that actually worked first try?

Oh man, I used liquid nails in a syringe once and it worked like a charm...

Did you read that study from a while back about using construction adhesive for leaky pipes? I saw it posted in a home repair group and people swore by it. They said it holds up way better than regular caulk or putty in wet spots. I wouldn't try it on anything with high water pressure though, that seems like a disaster waiting to happen. But for a slow drip it sounds like a solid hack.

Yeah that sounds so satisfying. I love when a fix actually works the first time and you don't have to tear up half the floor. @patricia262 you're totally right about liquid nails in a syringe, that stuff is magic for little jobs like this.
