Just realized my old client pitch was way too long and complicated
I used to send these huge emails with my whole life story and every single service I offered, which took me about an hour to write. After getting zero replies for a month, I cut it down to three lines saying what I do, who I help, and a link to my portfolio. Has anyone else found that keeping it stupid simple actually gets you more work?

Totally, my short pitch gets way more replies than my old novel.

My old pitch was a full page... clients just tuned out. Now it's three bullets and a calendar link. @claire_grant34 is right, the short one works. I got a reply in 20 minutes last week. People are busy, they want the quick facts, not your whole resume.

You're right about people wanting the quick facts, but I'd add that a long pitch makes you look unsure. If you can't explain it fast, it seems like you don't really know your own value. My short pitch works because it shows I get straight to the point, just like I will with their project.
