Vent: I paid $500 for a fancy project management tool and it just made me slower

I signed up for a year of 'FlowPro' thinking it would help me keep track of all my client work. It was so full of charts and reports that I spent more time updating it than actually doing the work. After three months, I went back to my old paper planner and a simple spreadsheet. Has anyone else tried a tool that just ended up being a time sink?

Yeah, @samflores gets it. Sometimes the simple way is just faster, even if it feels low-tech. All that extra stuff just gets in the way of the actual work.

Honestly, this reminds me of my smart home setup. I bought three different apps to control my lights and thermostat, and now it takes me longer to turn on a lamp than it did with the old switch. The promise of efficiency just adds more steps.

Man, I read this article about how all these smart gadgets actually make things harder. Like a guy had a fridge that could order milk, but it kept buying the wrong kind because the app was confusing. He just wanted to keep track of his food, not manage a shopping list through his ice maker. It's supposed to save time but you end up fixing problems you didn't have before.
