Hit 100 days of walking the Fullerton loop trail and nobody warned me about the knee thing
I started walking the loop every morning back in March, just a mile or so. Hit day 100 last Thursday and I was expecting to feel great, but my right knee started clicking on day 87 and hasn't stopped. Everyone says walking is low impact but nobody mentions how your joints adjust after months of the same pavement. Has anyone else dealt with weird knee noise after building a routine like that?

Did you try switching up your route or walking surface once in a while? I've heard that hitting the same pavement day after day can cause that clicking because your body never gets a chance to adjust to different angles or softer ground. Sticking strictly to concrete might be the issue, not the walking itself.

Bring it up with a doctor if you haven't already, because that clicking could be from tight muscles pulling on your kneecap, not the joint itself. I had the same noise after a long walking streak and turns out my IT band was super tight from repeating the same stride over and over on flat ground. A few minutes of foam rolling and doing some hip stretches before my walks got rid of the clicking in about a week. You ever tried any strengthening exercises for your glutes or hips alongside the walking?
