The difference between finding cash in a park vs a parking lot is night and day
I used to hunt for hidden cash in parks all the time, and I'd maybe score $5 or a Starbucks card every few weeks if I was lucky. Then I switched to checking parking lots at strip malls near the dumpsters and under shopping carts, and suddenly I'm finding $20 bills and unopened gift cards like every other Tuesday morning. The change happened over about 3 months when I realized people toss stuff out their car windows or drop things in parking lots way more than they hide it in grass or bushes. Last week alone I pulled a $50 Target card from under a cart at the Home Depot lot near me. Has anyone else noticed a spot that's way better than the usual hiding places?

Fair enough but I gotta disagree on this one. Parking lots are high risk for getting caught by security or someone who thinks you're stealing. Parks are way more chill and the payoff is better if you know where to look. Under picnic tables, near trash cans where people sit, or around benches that face the playground are gold mines. Found a sealed envelope with $60 in it wedged under a park bench last fall. That wouldve been gone in a parking lot lot within minutes. Have you tried checking near baseball fields or community garden areas?

See, I don't know @foster.jordan, if it's really that deep. I get what you're saying about security in parking lots, but I've never had anyone even look at me twice in one. People are too focused on getting to their cars or loading up their groceries to care what some guy is doing by the cart return. I've pulled loose change out of those things plenty of times. And that $60 find is a good score, no doubt, but I think you just got lucky. Most days in a park you're just finding crushed soda cans and half eaten hot dogs. To me it's just not a high stakes enough thing to worry about getting caught. You're not breaking into anything, you're just looking at the ground.

Found a melted candy bar in a parking lot once, thought it was a $20 from a distance. My eyesight's about as good as my luck finding actual money, I guess. @owens.anthony you're right though, nobody's paying attention to you in a lot anyway.
