Tried that $20 hidden cash magnet trick in Denver and it actually paid for itself in one afternoon

I was always skeptical about buying those strong magnets to check behind vending machines for dropped bills. Last week I finally grabbed a 50lb pull magnet from Harbor Freight for like $18 and hit up the Gas n Go on Colfax. Found two crumpled $5s and a soggy $20 in under an hour. Has anyone else tried this or is it just dumb luck in your experience?

Wait, that Harbor Freight 50lb pull magnet is only like $12 or $13 if you use a coupon from their website, you probably overpaid. But yeah the magnet trick works best on the older machines that don't have that metal anti-theft plate over the coin return area. I hit up a rundown car wash over by Federal and pulled out around $8 in coins and a soggy dollar bill in about 20 minutes. It's mostly luck though, you gotta find the spots that haven't been picked over by other people yet.

My buddy Mike tried this at a laundromat near 6th Ave and pulled out like $12 in quarters and a crusty $10 bill stuck to the back of a machine. Paid for his whole night of laundry.
