Estrogen therapy changed my mood swings completely in 3 weeks

I used to have these crazy mood swings around day 21 of my cycle, like crying at commercials and snapping at my husband for no reason. My doctor put me on a low dose estradiol patch after my levels came back at 18 pg/mL. Now three weeks in I feel way more stable, like the edge is gone. Has anyone else seen a big shift that fast with hormones?

My wife had the exact same thing happen with her estradiol patch about a year ago. She was around day 19 or 20 every month and would just lose it over nothing, like bumping her hip on the counter would make her cry for an hour. Right @hayden_craig95 it's wild how quick hormones can flip the script when they get the right push. My sister went through something similar with her patches, and it made me realize how many women are walking around thinking they're just "moody" or "emotional" when really it's their levels tanking. Like, you don't even know how bad it was until it's fixed, you know? I swear society just brushes off women being irritable or crying all the time as normal PMS, but three weeks of proper hormones and suddenly you're not snapping at your husband for leaving the milk out. It's a bigger thing than people talk about, and stories like this prove it's not just in your head.

Right on the "three weeks of proper hormones" thing, but I gotta say something about that timing. It usually takes longer than that for patches to really get your levels stable, like more than a month sometimes. My doc told me it takes about 4 to 6 weeks for the body to adjust and really feel the full effect, not just that first little boost. So if your sister felt better in three weeks, that's probably more of an initial bump than being fully level.
