My doctor told me to stop drinking coffee at 3pm and here's what happened

My endocrinologist Dr. Lin said cutting caffeine after 2pm would help my cortisol levels, and I thought she was being dramatic (like, how much could one cup of coffee really matter). Three weeks later I'm sleeping through the night for the first time in months and my afternoon anxiety is way down. Has anyone else been told to cut caffeine and actually seen their mood improve?

Half life of five hours? That explains a lot actually.

Did you ever feel like your 3pm coffee was the only thing keeping you going, cause same, but now I'm thinking maybe it wasn't?

Wait hold on, actually coffee at 3pm is probably doing more harm than good. It stays in your system way longer than people think, like half life is around 5 hours, so that 3pm cup is still messing with your sleep at 11pm. I stopped doing afternoon coffee a few months ago and my sleep got way better, plus I don't crash as hard midday anymore. Maybe try swapping it for a glass of cold water or a quick walk around the block for a week and see if you actually feel different. Just a thought lol.
