Ughhh RIGHT? Like oh wow thanks I never thought of just ignoring them, what a genius idea lol. Had a teacher tell me the same thing once and it's like cool so I should just stand there and take it while you do literally nothing to help. People who say that have clearly never had to sit through lunch hiding in the bathroom or take the long way home just to avoid getting tripped. Makes me so mad honestly.

I remember once trying the "ignore them" strategy and ended up just accidentally smiling at the exact wrong moment, which made the bully convinced I was mocking them, so that backfired real quick. Honestly, I've given dumber advice myself though - I once told a friend to "just be confident" while I was literally hiding from a group chat notification because I was scared of sounding dumb. Maybe it's just me, but I think people who say that stuff mean well, they just forget how the quiet part of your brain works when you're actually in that spot.
