My grandma's kitchen taught me meal prep is about more than just food

Back then, Sundays meant the whole family chopping and laughing while pots bubbled for hours. Now I see friends just heating frozen trays alone in their apartments. It feels like we traded community for convenience, and that's a shame. Sure, my tree job keeps me busy, but I still try to cook big batches like she did. Honestly, if your meal prep doesn't bring people together, you're doing it wrong.

Man, this hits home. My dad always made this huge pot of chili every football Sunday, and half the neighborhood would just wander in. Now I just nuke a burrito and eat over the sink. Makes you miss that noise.

That noise you miss, is it the people or the chaos itself?

Actually, quiet Sunday afternoons sound pretty nice. Less fuss, more peace and quiet.
