My uncle told me to 'just use vinegar' on my business logo

My uncle swore white vinegar could fix anything, even my faded sign at the farmers market in Fullerton. I spent $40 on a gallon and scrubbed the paint right off the board. Now I'm out a sign and have a bucket of vinegar sitting in my garage. Has anyone else lost money following family advice?

My neighbor tried the same thing on his truck's decals. Vinegar stripped the clear coat too. Whole truck looked splotchy.

You know what, I used to think vinegar was this magic cleaner for everything. My mom always swore by it for windows and stuff. But reading about your neighbor's truck actually makes me rethink that. Three of my friends have told me similar stories about it messing up paint and clear coats. I tried it on my own car's bumper sticker and it left this weird dull spot. So yeah, I'm officially done using vinegar on anything on my car. It's just not worth the risk of wrecking the finish.
