My brake pedal went to the floor mid corner at Buttonwillow last month

I was coming into turn 3 at around 85 mph and the pedal just sank. No warning, no fade first, just nothing. Managed to trail brake into the dirt and spun out in the gravel, no damage but my heart was pounding for ten minutes. Turns out one of my caliper pistons had seized and then blew the seal dumping all the fluid. I replaced all four calipers with rebuilt units from AutoZone for $45 each and flushed the system with Motul RBF 600. Has anyone else had a caliper fail suddenly like that or was mine just a freak thing?

Man, that is wild, I had a similar scare once on the street.

Ngl, I had something similar happen near a bus stop downtown. Some guy came out of nowhere and I about jumped out of my skin. Honestly, it's the worst feeling when you're just trying to mind your own business.

Whoa, 85 miles an hour and the pedal just went to the floor? That is terrifying. I would have probably needed new shorts after that, not just a new caliper. Its wild that it happened with no warning at all, usually you get some sponginess first. You got lucky you didn't get hurt or hit a wall. I'm glad those cheap AutoZone rebuilds are working out for you, that is a solid fix for the price.
