My neighbor called my leaf-blowing 'performance art' and I actually stopped doing it at 7am
I used to be out there every Saturday morning at 7 sharp with my gas leaf blower, blasting every single leaf off my driveway and into the street. My neighbor came over last month and asked if I was trying to 'create a dramatic swirl effect' because apparently I was just moving the same 12 leaves around for 45 minutes. He showed me his rake and said it takes him 15 minutes to do his whole yard, and I felt like an idiot. I timed myself last weekend with a rake and did my whole front lawn in 22 minutes flat. Has anyone else had a neighbor call them out on something dumb they did for years?

The boot stomp thing is gold. My old neighbor used to edge his lawn with garden shears, on his knees for an hour. I told him to just use a string trimmer like a normal person and he got defensive about "the old ways." Then his wife bought him a trimmer for his birthday and he texted me a photo of the same yard done in 12 minutes with a crying laugh emoji. Sometimes you just need one person to point out you're doing life on hard mode for no reason. What's the dumbest habit you've been called out on?

My buddy Dave spent three years using a weed whacker to edge his driveway because he saw someone do it on HGTV. I told him to just stomp the grass back with his boot like a normal person and he looked at me like I was crazy. Two weeks later he texted me a picture of his driveway with a caption "10 minutes flat." Sometimes we just get stuck on a dumb habit until someone snaps us out of it.

Right, so what took Dave three years to figure out that a single boot stomp couldn't solve in 10 minutes? @angelarivera, how deep does that HGTV brainwashing really go when we're talking this much wasted time?
