Took me 3 hours to realize The Fast and the Furious is just Point Break with cars
I was rewatching both movies last weekend and it hit me around minute 40 of Fast 1. Undercover cop gets close to the crew, falls for the lifestyle, lets the villain go at the end. Same skeleton, different paint job. Has anyone else noticed other action movies that just swapped the setting?

Nah, I gotta disagree a bit here. The skeleton might look similar but the heart of each movie is completely different - Point Break is all about Bodhi's death wish and that final wave, while Fast is just dudes stealing DVD players and learning to respect each other. If anything, Fast is more like a heist movie that forgot to be smart about it lol.

Stopped me dead in my tracks" yeah okay but you're missing the point. Fast and Furious is about family and loyalty from the start. Point Break is about Keanu being a naive rookie who gets brainwashed by surf culture. Dom never gets caught because he's not a villain. He's a guy who hijacks trucks for a living. Bodhi is a full on bank robber who dies in the end. Two totally different souls.
