Finally got my parents to ditch Windows 7 after 7 years of nagging
My folks were rock solid on Windows 7 forever. I told them for years the security risks were getting bad, but they didn't budge. Last month their old tower finally gave out and they had to get a new HP from Best Buy in Tucson. To my surprise, they actually like Windows 11 and said it feels faster. Anyone else have a family member who hung onto old tech way too long and then finally switched?

Ha, that's great they finally came around! I actually watched a really interesting video on YouTube about how Windows 11 is way better for older folks because of the simplified interface and better security. It's crazy how long people cling to old stuff, my dad still uses a flip phone from 2009 because he refuses to learn texting on a touchscreen (I swear he's not that old, just stubborn). Glad your parents are happy with the upgrade though.

Carter, your dad sounds like a genius honestly. That flip phone probably still works perfectly and doesn't spy on him every second. All this "better security" talk with Windows 11 is just Microsoft trying to force people into their cloud subscription nightmare. Windows 10 is proven reliable, familiar, and doesn't need six updates a week breaking stuff. Old people don't need a simplified interface, they need a computer that works the same way it did yesterday. My grandma ran Windows XP for fifteen years and never had a virus because she wasn't clicking random links. Sometimes holding onto old tech is just refusing to buy a problem you don't have yet.

Carter, did your dad glue that flip phone to his hand or what?
