Three years ago I almost smashed my router, now it's been running 47 days straight

Honestly I'm not even sure why I'm celebrating this but it feels like a win. Three years ago I was at my parents' house in Phoenix and their router would drop signal every 15 minutes. I spent like 4 hours on hold with the ISP and they said it was "interference from the microwave" which I knew was BS. Last month I finally switched to a wired connection for my desktop and ran the cable through the attic myself. It's been 47 days without a single dropout which is basically a miracle for my setup. Has anyone else dealt with ISPs giving you fake reasons for bad signal?

Dude yes. My old ISP told me my lag was from "too many smart bulbs on the network." Like no, your service just sucks. Glad you finally got that wired setup going, nothing beats a solid hardline.

Hold up, is having a hardline that big of a deal though? I get that it's faster and more stable, but unless you're trying to go pro in esports, the difference is usually like one less second of lag. My fiber optic still does fine with a dozen devices on Wi-Fi, I just don't buy into the whole "it'll change your life" hype. Maybe your old ISP was just a mess, but swapping to a wired setup feels like overkill for casual streaming and gaming. Unless your house is made of concrete, I'm not convinced it's that serious.
