Overheard a Verizon guy say 'unlimited' data is actually capped at 22GB

I was standing in line at the coffee shop and this sales rep told a customer that 'unlimited' really means they slow you down after 22 gigs. Has anyone else caught a phone company rep admitting this out loud?

Nailed it man, I caught a T-Mobile rep slipping at the mall last month. They said the same thing right in front of me, "unlimited" gets throttled after 22 gigs too. I was like wait, what? Then he tried to backpedal and say it's only during peak times lol. I've had my data slow to a crawl for days after hitting that cap every single month. It's basically false advertising but they get away with it because the fine print says "deprioritization" instead of throttling.

Wait hold on, did you say DAYS? Like your data was slow for multiple days after hitting 22 gigs? That's wild. I always figured it was just like a few hours until the next billing cycle or something. That basically makes the whole "unlimited" thing a straight up lie in my book.

Changed my mind honestly, I always thought unlimited meant unlimited no matter what until I hit that wall myself last billing cycle. My phone was basically unusable for videos and even loading simple websites took forever. It makes me wonder why they even bother calling it unlimited when there's clearly a cap that kills your speed.
