Vent: Saw a pickup driver fight a parking meter in downtown Austin last night

I was sitting at a red light on 6th street around 10 PM when this guy in a lifted Ford F-150 jumped out, kicked the meter twice, then tried to pull it out of the concrete. He gave up after 30 seconds and drove off with his hazard lights still flashing. Has anyone else seen people lose it over parking in that area?

Man I used to roll my eyes at people complaining about parking downtown... thought they were just being dramatic. But after seeing a guy in a Ram try to fight a meter on Congress last month I get it now. He was out there for a solid two minutes kicking it and yelling before his buddy pulled him away. It's like the city designed those things to break your spirit on purpose tbh. Makes you wonder how many people just give up and leave their car running with the flashers on. Austin parking is a whole different beast after midnight.
