Okay but are we making this into a bigger deal than it is? Kids are pretty tough. They see you come home tired, they hear the stories, they get that sometimes stuff happens. Missing one school play because a pipe burst doesn't mean they think you love your job more. It just means a pipe burst. The guilt is real for us, but they probably just wanted the extra cookie you brought home as a peace offering.

Read a story once about a shop that kept having comebacks on quarter panels. The estimator kept writing for partials, but the tech finally took photos of the factory seam they were cutting through every time. Showed the boss the weld flange sitting right on their cut line. After that, they started writing for full panels and the comebacks stopped. It's crazy how much hidden structure is in those factory spots.

Man, that's so true. I tried to learn to bake sourdough from a million different blogs and just wasted flour. Finally got a cookbook that laid it out step by step and it clicked right away. Sometimes you just need a map.
