I got stuck with a boss who measured success by how many square feet we laid in a day. He'd hover, tap his watch, and yell if we took time to double-check a seam. Once, on a big office install, he made us skip the proper tack strip check to save an hour. I found a loose strip later, but by then the carpet was down. That whole section had to be redone after the client complained about bumps. I told him rushing just means more callbacks and angry customers. He didn't listen, so I left for a shop that actually cares about craft. Now I sleep better knowing my work won't fall apart in a year. Guys like that give all of us a bad name.

My coworker's reaction to my air-fried tofu was priceless

I brought air-fried tofu to work for lunch, and the smell filled the whole office. My coworker from accounting came over, thinking I was cooking something exotic. She was so curious that she asked for the recipe right then and there. Now half the department has bought air fryers.
