Pro tip: I was crowding my air fryer basket for months
I kept getting soggy fries and uneven chicken. My wife finally pointed out that I was packing it full like a regular oven tray. I tried a single layer of frozen fries with space between them and they came out perfect, crispy all over. Anyone have a good trick for cooking bigger batches without this problem?

Single layer with space? That's a waste of time and power. I cram my basket full every time. You just need to shake it more. I dump a whole bag of fries in, shake it hard halfway through, and they come out fine. If your food is soggy, you're not cooking it long enough or hot enough. My chicken is always fine piled on top of itself. People make this way too complicated.

Feel your pain, Betty, soggy fries are the worst.

Actually, the type of potato makes a huge difference. Russets get way crispier than waxy ones, no matter how you cook them. A lot of frozen bags use the wrong kind. Soaking them first to pull out starch helps too, but who has time for that. Maybe the real problem starts at the store, not in the air fryer.
