Heads up: That new wireless contact sensor from ABC Corp died on me 3 days after install

Installed a set of those ABC wireless contacts at a house on Maple Street last Tuesday, and by Friday the back door sensor was already showing a fault. Customer called me panicked, had to swap it out with a wired one I keep in the truck. Anyone else seeing these fail this fast on new builds?

That Maple Street job sounds rough. I've been hearing a lot of complaints about those ABC sensors failing right out of the box. Did you check the battery terminals before you swapped it out? I had a similar issue on a job in Oakwood where three out of eight new sensors were dead within a week. Turns out the metal contacts were slightly bent from the factory, not making proper connection. Just pressing them down flat fixed the faults. Might be worth looking into if you haven't already cleared that install.

Died on me 3 days after install" - guess it couldn't handle the pressure, just like me at a buffet.

Used to be one of those guys that swore by ABC sensors, figured the brand name meant they were solid. But after seeing this kinda failure rate pop up more and more in different installs, I've totally flipped on that. Had a buddy who ran a whole subdivision with them and he's been swapping duds out for months. Its a real pain when a product hyped up as reliable craps out that fast. Definitely changed my mind on trusting the name alone.
