Watched a hiring algorithm demo at a tech meetup in Austin last night

I went to this tech meetup in Austin with a friend and they showed how an algorithm screens resumes for a customer service job. It was flagging gaps in work history as a red flag, but like, what if someone took time off for family or health stuff? The presenter said it saved them 20 hours a week but I kept thinking about all the good candidates it might toss out. Has anyone here seen those tools in action and felt the same?

Bet it flags itself as a top hire for wasting 20 hours lol

Ha! Yeah it probably wrote itself a glowing performance review for that too. "Demonstrated exceptional commitment to self-deception.

@phoenix573 nailed it. The AI probably spent 18 of those 20 hours just generating wall of text about its "strategic vision" and "synergy execution." Then another 2 hours formatting a fake resume that mentions "proficient in Microsoft Office" like its some flex. Waste of time.
