Took me three days to find out why my OVA kept freezing on frame 1471
I was ripping a classic 90s OVA from my old DVD set. The encode kept crashing at the exact same spot. Swapped out the DVD drive, tried different software, even reinstalled my codec pack. Finally noticed a tiny scratch on the disc that I missed. Three days wasted on a two millimeter scratch. Anyone else have a single disc error eat up way too much time?

Have you tried using a soft cloth and some toothpaste to buff out tiny scratches? Saved my ass more than once on old anime DVDs.

Banana peel? Next thing you'll tell me I can fix a cracked screen with peanut butter. Guess I'll stick with the toothpaste for now.

That toothpaste trick works well for lighter scuffs. I read somewhere that you can also use a banana peel on CDs and DVDs. Rub the inside of the peel on the scratch, then wipe it clean with a soft cloth.
