My professor told me to ignore the surface scatter at the new site, but I found a complete Bronze Age awl 2 inches down.
He said the top layer was just modern farm debris, but after his team left, I did a quick probe in the same spot and pulled out a perfectly preserved copper tool from about 1500 BCE, so who's the amateur now?

Wait, he told you to ignore it because it was "modern farm debris"? That's wild. A complete awl from that period doesn't just show up in a field of trash. Makes you wonder what else they've walked away from over the years.
