TIL about old bone breaks and my own back pain

I saw a report on how archaeologists study skeletons from ancient battle sites. They found lots of healed fractures and spine issues from hard labor. It got me looking at my own desk job back aches in a new light. These people dealt with real physical stress every day, yet their bones show they healed strong. I started doing more stretches and walking, thinking about how movement kept them going. It's wild to connect dots between thousand year old injuries and modern posture problems. Now when my back acts up, I remember those old bones and push through a bit more. Kind of puts my minor pains into perspective, you know?

See this with how we treat minor sickness now too.

Do we really make too big a deal about every little cough or sneeze? I see what @patricia262 means about how we handle minor sickness now, but is it always that serious? Most times, a small cold just needs some rest and it gets better on its own. Now we act like every sniffle needs a trip to the drugstore or a doctor's visit. That just adds stress and cost for no good reason. Are we maybe just too quick to panic over normal body stuff?

Agree, we've turned the common cold into a major event.

Seriously, I used to blame my chair for everything. This post got me thinking about movement instead.
