I used to think stacking frames was a waste of time

After trying to pull detail out of a single 30-second shot of the Orion Nebula and getting nothing but noise, I finally stacked 50 frames in DSS and the difference was so massive I honestly felt stupid for fighting it for two years.

Had a buddy swear single frames were fine until he tried stacking and sent me a screenshot freaking out over the detail he got.

Honestly, "freaking out over the detail he got" is such a mood. I remember my first stack everything looked like mud, then I actually tried it and it was like I put on glasses for the first time. Single frames are fine for a quick snap, but stacking is like unlocking cheat mode for your camera. It's wild how much hidden data is just sitting there waiting for you to combine it.

Saw the same thing with my buddy, he sent me a picture of his Jupiter and I nearly dropped my coffee.
