Old timer told me I was sanding too fast...
An old body guy watched me block sand a quarter panel and said I was running the block too quick, leaving high spots. I slowed down to half my usual pace and the primer laid down way flatter. Has anyone else gotten a simple critique that completely changed their prep work?

The speed thing is real. I used to just rip through panels too, thinking I was saving time. Slowing down lets you actually feel the block glide over the highs and lows. Plus going fast builds up heat in the primer and makes it gummy, which just clogs your paper way faster. Your old timer knew what he was talking about.

Yeah I used to think the old guys were just moving slow because they were old. Now I'm eating my words because they were right about everything.
