Our CFO just demanded we cut our Salesforce seats by 40% next quarter.
Got the email last Thursday. Said we need to drop from 250 licenses to 150 by July. No plan for which teams lose access. Three years ago we fought to get everyone on the same platform. Now it's back to spreadsheets and shadow systems. How do you even start this kind of cut without breaking everything?

Our CTO slashed our HubSpot seats by half last year and it was a total mess lol.

My buddy's sales team had that happen. They ended up sharing logins on a sticky note. Chaos for months.

Total mess" is a strong way to put it. Sometimes cutting seats forces you to really look at who actually needs the tool every day. We did something similar and it just meant cleaning up old accounts and setting better rules. It can actually work if you plan it right instead of just cutting randomly.
