Vent: How client onboarding has turned into a whole process now
Back in 2015 I could onboard a new B2B client with just a handshake, a one-page contract, and a 10-minute phone call. Now my firm has a 12-step checklist, three software logins, and a 45-minute video meeting just to get started. Has anyone else seen their onboarding time triple over the last 8 years?

Haha, man, that reminds me of a coffee shop I used to go to that had a three-page questionnaire before you could order a pour-over. They wanted to know your "flavor journey" and what kind of music you listened to. It was like applying for a job just to get a cup of coffee.

Friend of mine runs a small remodeling company and he put together this whole client intake packet after one nightmare job where the guy kept changing his mind about cabinet colors. He added like a "sign here if you agree the color is exactly what you picked" page just because of that one dude. Now his onboarding packet is like 8 pages long and half of it is basically saying "no you cant change the tile after we already installed it." Its funny how one bad apple makes you bulletproof everything.
