Got banned from a fitness sub for saying most gyms aren't worth the monthly fee
I posted about how I quit my $50 a month gym membership and built a home setup for $200 total from Facebook Marketplace and it works better. The mods said I was promoting unsafe equipment but I literally just bought a used bench and some dumbbells. The real trick was finding an old squat rack from someone moving that barely needed any assembly. Has anyone else gotten pushback for suggesting cheaper alternatives work just as good?

r/gym mods are just salty you outsmarted their overpriced ecosystem.

Oh man, I mean honestly though, maybe it's just me but I bet the mods aren't even the ones making money off that whole setup. It's probably some regional manager or corporate higher-up who pushed for those prices and the mods just have to enforce the rules, you know? Like they're not personally invested in selling you a $60 branded tank top, they're just doing a job nobody else wants. Idk, feels like taking it out on them kind of misses the real target.
